Community Guidelines
OffTo is built on trust. Here's how we keep it that way.
Be Real
OffTo is for real students sharing their real journey. Use your actual name, your actual high school, and the college you're actually attending. Fake profiles undermine the trust that makes this community work.
If we detect that your school information doesn't match your account signals (email domain, location, etc.), we may flag your profile for review or limit your visibility.
Be Kind
Everyone on OffTo is going through one of the biggest transitions of their life. Celebrate people's decisions — don't tear them down. This isn't the place for school rankings, elitism, or making anyone feel bad about where they're headed.
- No harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
- No hate speech or discrimination
- No unsolicited sexual content or advances
- No doxxing or sharing others' private information
Keep It Appropriate
OffTo is used by high school and college students, some as young as 13. Content should be appropriate for that audience.
- No explicit or sexual content
- No promotion of drugs, alcohol, or illegal activities
- No spam, scams, or commercial solicitation
- No content promoting self-harm or violence
Respect Groups
Groups are shared spaces. When you join a group, you're joining a community. Don't spam group chats, don't share group invite codes publicly without the group owner's permission, and don't use groups to target or exclude people.
Messaging Etiquette
Direct messages are for connecting with people in your web. Don't send unsolicited messages to harass or spam people. If someone doesn't respond, respect their boundaries. Repeated unwanted contact is grounds for account removal.
What Happens If You Break the Rules
Depending on the severity:
- Content removal — we remove the offending post, comment, or message
- Profile restriction — your profile is hidden from public feeds and the map
- Account suspension — temporary ban from the platform
- Account deletion — permanent removal for serious or repeated violations
We aim to be fair but will always prioritize the safety of the community.

If you see something that violates these guidelines, contact us at safety@off-to.app. Include as much detail as possible (screenshots, profile links, etc.). We review every report.
